Hi @daputtputt2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re facing several frustrating issues with your HP ENVY 6055 printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problems with color printing and alignment.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Double-check that the new color cartridge is installed correctly and is compatible with your printer model.
  • Remove Protective Tape: Make sure there are no protective tapes or plastic covers left on the cartridge.
  • Check Ink Levels: Even new cartridges can sometimes be low. You can check the ink levels via the HP Smart app or printer display.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and Run: This tool can help diagnose and fix printing issues automatically. You can download it from the HP support website.

Printer Configuration

  • Print Quality Settings: Go to the printer settings in the HP Smart app and ensure the print quality is set to "Best" or "Normal" and not "Draft."
  • Color vs. Grayscale: Ensure that the settings are not set to print in grayscale or black and white.

Printer Reset

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Network Reset: If your printer is connected to WiFi, you might also consider resetting the network settings.

Reinstall Printer

  • Remove Printer from HP Smart App: Go to the HP Smart app, remove your printer, and add it again.
  • Use USB Connection for Setup: If you’re using WiFi, temporarily connect the printer to your computer via USB and set it up that way.

Print Head Alignment

Since you're encountering the "ink program has been cancelled" message:

  • Manual Alignment: Sometimes, you can manually align the print head via the printer's control panel. Refer to the printer's manual for the steps.
  • Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer that could resolve issues.

Troubleshoot Error Messages

  • Busy Message: Ensure that there are no print jobs queued in the print queue that could be causing the printer to be busy. You can clear the print queue by going to "Devices and Printers" in Windows and canceling any pending jobs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
