HP 6075 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I try printing envelopes , the HP ENVY 6075 All-In-One Printer takes about 4 minutes for every standard envelope.  The printer prints at normal speed for everything else.  I have a Brother and Canon printer and they both print perfectly fine with Stamps.com.

I have tried:

1) reinstalling the printer

2) Reinstalling the printer drivers

3) Printing with the printer on wireless.   I have an ASUS  802.11ac 5GHz: 2,167 Mbps, 2.4GHz: 750 Mbps  router, which isis 6 inches from the printer.

4) Printing with the printer on USB 2.0. (tried multiple 2.0  6 USB cables - 6 feet and 3 feet lengths.)

5) Adjusted the printing preferences for all instances to "draft"

6) Made sure "quiet mode" is set to off

7) Made sure all equipment had the latest firmware updates (printer and router, OS, etc)

8  Reinstalled stamps.com.

9) Made sure stamps.com was configured correctly

10) Contacted stamps.com support and worked with a stamps.com representative for 30 minutes to make sure everything was setup correctly

11) Updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11

12) Tried installing and setting up the printer on my laptop and did all the tests above, but still so very slow

13) Tried contacting HP support but could not get anyone on the phone.

Is there anything else anybody can recommend?  I have tried everything that I believe could be causing the problem.

I believe you when you say you installed the Full Driver printer software.

That said, others who are reading might not understand that there are two parts to this:

  • HP Smart application
  • Full Feature Software / full driver printer software

It is needful that the Full Driver be installed to fully support the features on the printer.

If you need help with installing software,

Scroll down to Section References / Resources  > Printer Software - Details and Examples

===================================================================================

If you want to print wireless, move the printer farther away from the router - six inches is way too close.

An incorrect configuration (selected shortcut / options) can cause printing to slow down.

In general, it is useful to set the Printing Preferences to Shortcut "Everyday" printing.

This prevents Printing Preferences from interfering with your other software used to print envelopes.

Set the Preferences – Windows

NOTES

  • This section is not applicable to Mobile Printing.
  • Access to the complete Printer Preferences requires having installed the Full Driver printer software.
  • Printing Preferences are available directly from the driver.
  • Printing Envelopes?  See NOTE

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences

  • When called from within printing software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” / "Printer Setup" or similar.

NOTE >> Word > Mailings > Envelopes  :: Preferences and Envelopes

Select / leave Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday Printing" or something equally benign.

Example - Printing Preferences - Everyday Printing Shortcut / options

===================================================================================

What else?

If not done,

Add the following to your checkpoints:

Select the Source (Tray) as opposed to leaving as "Automatic"

Make sure the envelope size you are printing is supported either as a standard size or as a custom paper form size

Try printing one of your envelopes using a different software

If the envelope is acceptable (size / type) and still balks, treat as a custom size in the print software setup.

Printer Software - Details and Examples

Video Help to install the printer software:

HP Envy 6055 | HP Envy Pro 6455 : Download & Install HP Full solution software on Win 10 Computer

and / or...

Printer Software and Printer Application

Install either the HP Smart Application first OR install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software first.

No wrong way - be sure to install both to have "full coverage" and access to your printer features.

The full driver printer software supports printing and scanning for Office documents, PDF, Photos (Images), and other print or scan software.  (Print Assistant and HP Scan)

HP Smart - Windows - provides scanning and printing for PDF and Photos / images with options in More Settings for Shortcuts and other settings.

===========================================================

>>> Check / Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software

The full driver provides the foundation on which other programs and printing software depend.

Preparation - Install Full Driver Printer Software

If you have not done so,

In addition to the HP Smart application,

Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software for the printer.

HP Smart and other print software / applications benefit from having the full driver installed.

Printer Software Check

Notes

If the full driver printer software is installed, you will see the printer listed in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features.

The installation of the printer software adds two shortcut icons to the Desktop.

The Printer Assistant is named for the printer and provides access to Print , Scan , and Tools

HP Scan is named for itself and provides a direct call to the HP Scan software.

Next...

Printer software not installed - OR - (still) installed but not working?

NOTE:  If the printer software shows installed but is not working as expected,

Uninstall the printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Restart the computer and log in

What if?

If software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and / or is “still hanging around” after you uninstall / Restart...

Microsoft:  Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed

OR

Revo Uninstaller (Free version)

then

Restart the computer and log in

Reminder:  If using USB, disconnect the USB printer cable between the printer and the computer before installing software.  (Re)Connect the USB cable when instructed to do so near the end of the installation procedure.

Install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software

Restart the computer and log in

Method - Use the Easy Start Wrapper to Install the Full Feature / Full Driver Software

For printers that support the option,

Use the Easy Start wrapper to install and configure the printer software.

  • Home Page - HP Easy Start
  • Open Category Software and Drivers
  • Topic: Software-Utility
  • Download-and-Save  the current version of the Easy Start wrapper to install your print software
  • If using USB:  Disconnect the USB cable between the printer and computer before installing the software.
  • Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
  • When asked, Select to install the “Full Driver” / “Full Feature Software”
  • If using USB:  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (near the end of the installation process).
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

Notes >> Easy Start... The Journey

  1. Full Administrator Rights are required to complete the HP Software installation.
  2. About 2/3 of the way through the setup, you will be given the opportunity to select the software - select the "Full Driver" set (as opposed to the basic driver or other application).
  3. You can skip / ignore suggestion(s) that you add the HP Account – you’ll need the account at some point, for now, you can skip this suggestion (as many times as it insists it’s a good idea) during the full driver software installation.
  4. If you see it, you can skip / ignore suggestion(s) regarding Instant Ink subscription.  Instant Ink subscription is NOT mandatory.
  5. If the installation completes and then wants to loop around again, X out of the repeat menu / message to install again.
  6. Full driver includes print and scan functions supported by your printer and provides the printer features on which other applications / software might depend.

NOTE

Oddly, I cannot find a product number homepage for your printer:

8QQ97A - HP ENVY 6075 All-In-One Printer

I can find the "HP+" version of the printer.

Same hardware - simply ignore any direct references to HP+.

I've never used Stamps.com "anything".

Just an update on my attempt to get the HP 6075 printer to print stamps.com at an acceptable speed. The problem still persists. At this point I suspect it is definitely an issues with stamps.com and that printer model (yes you can see in my first post, I spent a considerable amount of time with the stamps.com technician).

1) Yes - Full drivers installed and reinstalled on two different devices.  (including the HP print repair tool)

2) Yes - All printing preferences set correctly and to draft in all instances

3) Yes - All specs read, understood and met

4) Yes - Printed envelopes on Word and it works perfectly fine which really points to a problem with stamps.com and that specific printer

At this point I have several hours into this HP fixit project.  Unfortunately I will be donating this printer to the local church.  I have a new Canon printer on order.

Thanks for your help in this exercise. I appreciate it very much.
