Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have put in 3 new HP color cartridges and the message is that they are damaged or failed. I then put in another set  and the same message. the HP Scan doctor didn't help. It said that "device status" was no good and it merely said that I should turn off power and unplug and then reconnect. I did that and still no good. I have up-to-date drivers installed and so what is wrong. Is there a printer hardware problem suddenly? If so, can it be repaired easily?
