Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Lady friend bought a HP 7255e all-in-one inkjet printer.  When she uses the LCD screen on the printer to start a scan, it says to install the printer driver.  However, she can print to the printer from her Win10, 64 bit PC fine.  Evidently, the printer driver was installed by Win10 when she connected the printer to her PC.

 

I downloaded the HP printer & scanner driver software and it goes through the install process but at the end it say "something went wrong".  Tried several times and sometimes the driver install just hangs with a spinning circle.

 

Is it because her PC is too old?  She has a HP Pavilion 500-400z,  Model nbr:  TP01-1050, running Win10, 64 bit.
