HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Other

I logged into the printer via a browser to change the password, using the IP address. I saved the password into a password manager and even kept the password as the last item in the clipboard. I go to log in after just changing the password and it does not grant me access. No error message, and no feedback. The log-in pop-up "Sign in to access this site Authorization required by https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Username _ Password _" pops up 4 times, then disappears. There is a chance each sign-in attempt was a failure but HP fails to provide that type of user feedback. Attempting to proceed to any of the locked areas provides the error message:

Incorrect User Name and Password

The user name and password entered are incorrect.

For greater security, the authentication session is locked. Try again later.

Finally, it says the credentials are incorrect.
There are obvious poor choices in programming the user interface but the most significant is screwing up setting up user credentials. How can I sign into this HP? I doubt that the password manager failed to retain the same password it generated and Windows altering text in the clipboard is even less likely. Any help would be appreciated.
