HP OfficeJet Pro 8610

Trying to install the basic software for the OfficeJet Pro 8610 on a newly purchased HP Lap top.  While the device can be found in my network neighborhood and windows "sees" and will install the printer.  The software install wizard will locate the printer and display it during the install and then after about 10 - 15 minutes it returns an error of not able to locate the printer.  I spent the last 2 days trying to get this properly installed.  The HP Print and Scan Doctor failed in the same fashion - located everything and worked fine but once the software install starts it fails in the same place.  As you can imagine highly frustrating for a "plug and play" printer.  Any thoughts on how to resolve,

Welcome to HP support community.

 

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers. 
  • Restart the PC again.

It seems that I am having the same issue, but I have an HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

 

Is the driver the same for my printer as the driver download you attached in your previous response?
