HP Officejet Pro 8615 e-All-in-One Printer

Hi,

I still have my HP 8615 Printer and it works great.  However, recently I have noticed that whenever I attempt to use small 4" × 6" paper, it cannot handle it very well.  It prints very quickly, smudges and often times  there are multiple paper jams.  Years ago, I had found a "fix" online to accomplish this.  The remedy was to also install an additional driver file—the HP Deskjet 9800 driver file, to be used by this same printer.  Then, whenever I wanted to print on this smaller sized paper or "Poster Print" (another feature the HP Officejet 8615 cannot seem to handle) I would select this printer, the Deskjet 9800, instead.   It would print to the same port as my HP 8615 printer and I never experienced any issues.

Fast forward to today, I am trying to print out a document on small 4" × 6" paper with no success.  What has changed?  I already attempted to reinstall the additional HP Deskjet 9800 driver so I could select that printer for printing this document onto small paper.  However, the output comes out just as fast as if I had not selected the HP Deskjet 9800 alternate printer.😟  Without this older printer driver, my HP 8615 prints out a very smudged document or often times will cause a paper jam. How then do I print on smaller-sized paper going forward with this HP 8615 printer which still works quite well?

Thanks,

I haven't written to turn on the printer yet, so it's off.

Uninstall the old driver in Control Panel, in "Programs and Features", then remove

all occurrences in "Program" and "X86 Program", in Control Panel, right click on your old printer (If it is still there, chances are that it is no longer there) "Remove", if it is present.

Restart the PC. At the end of the startup, connect the printer to the mains, connect a USB cord on the PC side, on the printer you will connect it during the installation ONLY when asked.

Start installing your printer, by right-clicking on the Setup. EXE of the downloaded driver, click ''installed'' en

as administrator'', let the installation take place, at the end, restart the PC.

To create a shortcut on the Windows desktop, open Control Panel, right-click on your

new printer, create shortcut, on the desktop, yes.

A new shortcut has been created on the Windows desktop.

Turn on your printer, print a test page, by clicking on the new shortcut created.

That's it, your printer is working again.

with this method, my printer has been working for 7 years without problems.

Thank you.

Please let me know the result.

                              Excellent Day.
