Hello everybody, I am using a HP officejet 8715 all in one - for years this printer runs properly. A few day ago I scanned a page and after this scan the scanner didn't work anymore. After running serveral tests the hp doc says that there is a driver problem - there is no support from HP - how can this be possible?
Does anybody has an idea to solve the problem - beside buying a CANON?
Thank you very much,

Hello @JOE8715 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Try first this:
- shut down printer via on/off switch
- switch off the router
- shut down the computer
- wait about 60 sec.
- switch on the router, wait until the router has completely initialized itself again
- Switch on the printer, wait until the printer has finished its initialization
- switch on computer, log in (with admin rights) and wait about 10 sec.
... and now everything's working again?
If that doesn't help, here's what you need to do:
- Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
- Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- download only this complete package: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories
File name: Full_Webpack-40.15.1230_1-OJ8710_Full_Webpack.exe (115.8 MB) - Close all programs
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE
- The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
- Restart the PC again
- Now the installation is complete.
Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
Kind Regards

Hello, thank you for this proposal of a solution - unfortunatelly it doesnt work. Even connecting the printer via usb there appears the message "scan in progress" try afterwards,,,,
There seems to be a problem with the driver.
Printing works properly, but not scanning.
Any idea besides buying a Canon Printer?
Thank you very much,
best Joe

Is that possibly the case: HP printers - 'Driver is unavailable’ or a yellow bang when connecting USB (ARM64, Windows 10) ?
