Yes. HP recommends updating to the latest drivers for full functionality, especially scanning and advanced print features.

Steps to Update HP Drivers

  1. Go to HP’s official support page:
    HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
     
  2. Select your macOS version. Install HP App (e.g., macOS 14 Sonoma or newer).
     
  3. Download HP Easy Start:
    • This is HP’s official installer that automatically detects your printer and installs the correct drivers.
       
  4. Run HP Easy Start and follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
