Hi @Nia31
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you're having trouble with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 on macOS 15.2 Sequoia, especially with legal-size printing and duplex (back-to-back) printing options not working. Let me guide you through some solutions to get things back up and running!
Step 1: Ensure Printer and MacOS are Up-to-Date
Update macOS:
- Check for any available macOS updates that may address printer compatibility issues.
- Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Software Update, and install any available updates.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Sometimes the issue can be with outdated drivers. Ensure you're using the latest driver for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020.
- Go to the HP support page for your printer and check if there’s a new driver for macOS 15.2 Sequoia. Install it following the instructions.
HP Smart App:
- Try using the HP Smart app, available on the Mac App Store. It's designed to work better with macOS versions and offers more flexible settings for your printer, including handling legal-size paper and duplex printing.
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store, then open it and follow the steps to set up your printer again. This app is known to work well with the latest versions of macOS.
Step 2: Reset the Printer Setup on macOS
Sometimes, the settings or configuration gets out of sync, especially after a macOS update or printer firmware update. To reset the printer configuration:
Remove Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 and click the minus (-) sign to remove it.
Re-add the Printer:
- Once the printer is removed, click the plus (+) sign to add it again.
- If the printer shows up, select it and add it. If it doesn’t show up, make sure it’s connected to the same network (Wi-Fi or wired) as your Mac.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Tried all this but nothing helped. Even tried to print via the email service thing (hpeprint.com). Nothing.
Printer clicks once and then does nothing.
MacOS 15.2. Everything at the latest version. Printer deleted and installed freshly. Resetted Mac printing system. Nothing helps
