Hi @Sycamore74 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e and the HP OfficeJet 9020 series printers do not support automatic duplex (double-sided) printing on legal-size paper (8.5” x 14”). These printers can print double-sided automatically for certain paper sizes, like letter size (8.5” x 11”), but not for legal-size.

However, you can still manually print double-sided on legal-size paper by following these steps:

Manual Duplex Printing on macOS:

Open the Print Dialog:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print.

Select Printer and Paper Size:

  • Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e or 9020 series printer is selected.
  • Choose the Legal (8.5” x 14”) paper size.

Enable Manual Duplex:

  • In the Print dialog box, look for the Layout or Print Settings section (you might need to click Show Details).
  • Under the Two-Sided option, select Off (for manual duplexing).

Print Odd Pages First:

  • Choose to print only Odd pages first.
  • Click Print.

Flip the Paper:

  • Once the odd pages are printed, take the printed pages, flip them, and place them back into the printer’s input tray.

Print Even Pages:

  • Go back to the Print dialog box, and now choose to print only the Even pages.
  • Click Print to complete the double-sided printing process.

While this is a manual process, it allows you to print double-sided on legal paper when the printer’s automatic duplex feature does not support that size.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
