HP APP Printer

I have an HP ELITEBOOK and the HP APP in the start menu. I see my laptop listed and added my HP ENVY printer.  This printer initially shows as HP ENVY 6400 All-in-One Printer series; however, after a few seconds the name changes to only HP. and the rest of the name drops. I can remove it from the app and add it again but same issue. This is not an issue on my smartphone HP APP, the name is correct on that device. Strange is is not the same on the laptop.

HP App is apparently rolling out on Windows --

Yes, it's different from the HP App Mobile version.

Yes, it should at least work in an understandable way.

No, I cannot explain what is going on -- at least not yet.

Consider / Try

Change the Nickname of the added Printer / Device.

Open HP App 

Add  (if needful) and Open the Printer under whatever name you find it

Scroll down and down to Personalization

In the Nickname setting, Select to Edit ✎

Select to Remove the current name  ✖

Enter a new name for the Printer AND Save
