@fsewall24, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Connecting to Server in HP Access Control!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
This error message indicates that the HP Access Control application was unable to establish a connection with the server. This problem is often due to network issues, server configuration errors, or firewall settings. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Server Status: Ensure that the server is up and running. If it is not running, restart the server and check again.
Network Connectivity: Verify network connectivity between your device and the server. Use tools like ping or tracert to ensure that communication between your device and the server is possible.
Firewall Settings:
- Check the firewall on both your computer and the server to ensure that the necessary ports are open.
- Sometimes, firewalls can block specific applications or ports needed for the connection. You can look into allowing applications through the firewall instead of opening specific ports.
Server Configuration:
- Confirm that the server configurations are correctly set up to accept incoming connections from your HP Access Control application.
- Verify any necessary credentials or licenses needed for connection.
Service Status: Inspect the status of HP Access Control services on the server. Restart services if needed and ensure they are configured correctly.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
