I'm trying to scan a number of photos and have read that there is a version of HP Smart that will recognize multiple photos and allow me to save them under different file names. My version of HP Smart doesn't support that. I'm wondering how to do this. I saw another post that says that "HP App" has replaced HP Smart but when I go to 123HP.com, I get a black screen and get no further. What can I do to get software that will allow me to scan in multiple photos at one time?

I am sorry it's confusing -- it has been a bit of a roller coaster recently.

HP App has replaced HP Smart on supported Mobile Devices -- tablets and phones.

HP Smart is still available in Windows -- it, too, will be replaced with an "HP App" at some point.

The Scan option in both HP App and HP Smart - Windows - are unfortunately limited to scanning what it sees and then planting the content into a single file for the content type (PDF or Photo / Image).

The feature you are seeking is available for supported printer models in supported versions of Windows that support a full driver printer software option.

The Full Driver printer software includes either the original HP Scan / HP Universal Scan Software

Both the original format HP Scan and the newer formatted HP Scan / HP Universal Scan Software include the "scan photos and save in separate files" feature.

The feature is called "Detect Photos" for JPEG and "Detect Content on Page" for PDF

General Example - Full Driver printer software installed - HP Scan

Page Size = Detect Photos

General Example -  HP Universal Scan

Page Size = Detect Photos
