HP C4480 Printer

Computer crashed and all software was lost.  New computer now but need software for the C4480 Printer.  I can print but scan.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are looking for compatible drivers for your HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

As the printer is obsolete and the operating system is the latest you are facing a compatibility issue and the software is not available.

However, you may add the printer to your PC.  I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. 

Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Thanks for the reply.  I guess that I was not clear with my problem.  I don't need the printer driver.  I need the software that allows me to use the printer as a scanner.  I scan several documents to people as PDFs and pictures as JPEGs.  I lost the software when the old computer crashed.  The printer will print from Word or Excel or even my cad programs but is there software out there that will help me do scanning?  The printer is old, that I realize but it is such a good one.
