@AJWool, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve the "HP CERT expired" issue on your HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One printer, which typically relates to an expired Embedded Web Server (EWS) certificate used for secure printing protocols like AirPrint or IPPs.

Issue: Certificate Expired on HP Smart Tank 7305

This usually results in errors like:

  • “Encryption Credentials Expired”
  • Inability to print from macOS, iOS, or secure environments

Solution Steps

Step 1: Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device.
  2. Find the printer’s IP address:
    • On the printer control panel, press the Information (i) button to print a Network Configuration Page.
    • Look for the IPv4 address.
  3. Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the address bar to access the EWS.

Step 2: Reset or Renew the Certificate

  1. In the EWS, go to Network > Advanced Settings > Certificates.
  2. If the certificate is expired:
    • Click Create a New Certificate or Restore Defaults.
    • Follow the prompts to generate a new self-signed certificate.
  3. Save and apply the changes.
  4. Restart the printer.

Alternative: Restore Factory Defaults

If the above doesn’t work, you can reset the printer to factory defaults:

  1. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button for 5 seconds until all buttons light up.
  2. Then press the Resume and Cancel buttons together.
  3. This will reset the printer’s network and certificate settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
