Hi @Mwolff,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Resetting the HP Color Laser 150nw printer to its factory settings, including restoring the Embedded Web Server (EWS) username and password to their defaults, can be essential if you've lost the password. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you reset your printer:

Turn off the printer: Make sure the printer is turned off before you proceed.

Access the Reset Option:

  • Turn the printer on.
  • Once the printer is on, wait for it to be in the ready state (i.e., no error messages on the display, if your printer has a display panel).

Press and hold the (Wireless) button on the control panel for about 20 seconds. When the (Attention) LED and the (Power) LED start blinking together, release the (Wireless) button.

Reset from the EWS (if you still have some access):

  • If you can still access the EWS with a different account or limited access, look for a settings or system tab where you might find a factory reset option.
  • Some HP printers allow for a hardware reset via a hidden button inside the printer or holding down specific buttons while turning the printer on. This process can vary widely between models.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel571,

thank you so much for your reply.

I found this suggestion on another thread but I did attempted again 3 times the below procedure without success:

Turn off the printer: Make sure the printer is turned off before you proceed.

Access the Reset Option:

Turn the printer on.

Results:  I can still access the EWS but once I click login I still get invalid username or password.

I tried logging in with:

  • user Admin and admin with empty password
  • user Admin and admin with 1234 or 12345678 password

From EWS menu and without login there is no way to reset  username and password to their defaults.

Any other suggestion?

Thank you
