Hi @netmaps,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've reset your HP Color Laser 150nw printer and still can't log in to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) with the default admin username and a blank password, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Verify the Network Connection:

    • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network. Check the Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, and make sure it has a valid IP address.
    • You can print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to confirm the IP address. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to do this.
  2. Clear Your Browser's Cache:

    • Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause login issues with EWS. Try accessing the EWS using a different web browser or clear the cache and cookies of your current browser before attempting to log in again.
  3. Use the Default Credentials:

    • Ensure that you are using the correct default username and password. The default username is usually "admin," and the default password may be blank, "admin," or "1234." You can find this information in the printer's manual or documentation.
  4. Try a Factory Reset:

    • If you are certain that you are using the correct default credentials and the issue persists, you may want to perform a factory reset on the printer. This will revert the printer to its original settings, including network settings.
    • The process for performing a factory reset may vary by printer model, so consult the user manual or HP's support website for specific instructions.
  5. Update the Printer's Firmware:

    • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause login issues. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website, and if so, update the firmware.

Please be cautious when performing a factory reset, as it will erase all custom settings and configurations on the printer. Make sure you have any necessary setup information, such as network details, before proceeding.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

No of these is working for me. I mean after a factory reset i can see the IP and can still print but not accessing the ews with the default credentials. With HP Smart I can't even add the printer as it isn't found on the same network as the mobile

On some models the default password is the same as the default WIFI access password.
