I have an HP Color LaserJet MFP 5800, and it is stuck on 1/8 during startup, as shown in the attached image.

Troubleshooting Steps I've Tried:

Partial Clean
Format Disk
Firmware Update

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Hello,

Troubleshooting HP Color LaserJet MFP 5800 Startup Issue

When your HP Color LaserJet MFP 5800 is stuck on 1/8 during startup, it often indicates a deeper issue, possibly with the hardware or firmware. As you've already tried several troubleshooting steps like partial cleaning, disk formatting, and firmware updates, here are additional steps and considerations:

  1. Perform a Cold Reset:

    • A cold reset can restore factory settings, which might resolve the startup issue. Make sure you have backups of any important settings or configurations before doing this, as it will erase all configurations.
    • Turn off the printer and turn it back on while holding down the reset button (often the cancel or OK button) until you see a reset message on the screen.
  2. Check for Hardware Issues:

    • Ensure all components like memory, hard drives, and other peripherals are properly connected and seated in their slots.
    • Inspect for any obvious signs of damage or loose connections.
  3. Verify Firmware Update:

    • Ensure that the firmware update process was completed successfully. You may want to try re-downloading and reapplying the update to ensure completeness.
  4. Seek Professional Support:

    • If none of the above solutions work, it might be necessary to contact HP Support for more technical assistance. They may be able to identify more complex issues.
    • Log details about the steps you've taken and any error codes for your conversation with support.
