Hi - I am trying to print my own product labels using a mac and adobe illustrator - what is the best combination of settings to get the best result?

Files are CMYK Color Mode - High (300ppi) Raster Effects

I am amazed how little info is available on the best print drivers to us the best print driver to use - is there a ppd? - how to manage the color? - what printer profile to use? - what rendering intent etc etc etc

Hello HP - How would you print the finest/truest image, the best your printer can possibly perform, using adobe illustrator? Thanks!!!!!

You have a totally wrong printer then. There are no profiles, poor colour management is done by the print driver, the best result you will get is by trial end error.

Hi Valsimot! Trial and error is what I am doing - there are so many permutations of the above it makes my head spin.

I'm not sure I have the wrong printer - it actually prints pretty well - I'm trying to optimize.

I'm just looking for some community level set of best practices for printing labels with mac + illustrator + hp, eg... "make sure the Illustrator is managing the color" or "don't outline the fonts if you have the fonts"... that kind of thing.
