Printer offline, asks for driver but not sure which one to use

You can try this: remove the printer from System Preferences, then reinstall it using AirPrint instead of the HP driver. On Mac, AirPrint is usually the most stable option for these models and avoids the “driver needed” loop. Just add the printer again, let macOS detect it, and pick AirPrint from the dropdown. If the printer still shows offline, restart the router and printer together so they reconnect cleanly.
