Hello everyone,

I have read and watched videos on how to fix the scanning issue with my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw but just could not get it working. So I post it here and hope someone can help.

This HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is connected directly to my desktop PC running windows 10 (64 bit).  I have download all available drivers for this printer and HP Smart as well.  Everything works except I could not use the scan option on the printer's control panel display (I can scan but I have to do it from the desktop PC).  The printer is able to connect to the home Wi-Fi.   Having the network folder set up like this, \\sampc\scandocs,  it displays this error message "Cannot find the remote server. Check server name..."  when I try to scan from the printer panel. So I tried using the IPv4 address, \\169.###.#.###\scandocs .  The folder scandocs showed up on the printer panel.  I selected that folder to scan to but then, it displayed this message, "Scanning was unsucessful. Try again".  Any help is much appreciated.  Thank you.
