Hi @mhshaon98
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, I'm sorry to hear that your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is having issues with its screen not turning on, especially since it's a used printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help diagnose and resolve the problem:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer back on. Check if the screen lights up.
2. Check for any Display Lock
- Ensure the printer's control panel (screen) isn’t in a power-saving mode. Try pressing the Home button or touching the screen to see if it wakes up.
- Look for a screen brightness option in the settings that might have been reduced to the point where the screen appears off.
3. Check for Firmware or Software Issues
- You may need to update the printer firmware if possible. You can visit the HP Support website and search for the firmware for your printer model.
4. Perform a Hard Reset
To reset the printer to its default settings, follow these steps:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds while it is unplugged.
- After the time is up, release the power button and then plug the printer back in.
- Turn the printer back on and check the screen.
5. Check the Display Connection
- Inspect the internal cables: If you're comfortable with opening the printer, you could check whether any cables or connectors are loose or disconnected, especially those connected to the screen.
- Examine the screen for any damage: Look closely for any physical signs of screen damage.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
