I have two of the HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M283FDW. At some point a few weeks ago I had a problem which led me to unistall both printers and reinstall - I've spent ages trying to do this and each time I try I cannot print as 'driver is unavailable' and the only way I can print is via a wired USB connection or using the send to email option both are not ideal.
I've followed the guides on your support site and a few things in communtiy forums on the HP site but still no luck.
I've now again unistalled everything to do with the printer from my computer and nothing shows in control panel/printers and devices yet when I open a document to try and print it shows the HP printer present (yet still doesn't work).
I've followed the steps from your forum here > https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Driver-unavailable/td-p/7551067 and come a cropper at Step 7 of the guide to deleting the drivers by 'printui.exe .s as when I attempt this it tells me the driver is in use?
Spooler has been cleared, printer is not connected to my computer.
Gone into Regedit and tried to delete what I could find relating to this driver (4 items) and I cannot delete it from here as the system needs to delete it?
Help!
I've tried using the HP scan doctor download, doesn't work. Tried new drivers, doesn't work. Tried installing with hp smart, doesn't work/fix issue. Only way I can currently print is via the email option or via USB.
Driver that I cannot rid my computer of within my driver properties of 'printui.exe /s' is the following HP ColorLaserJet MFP M282-M285 PCL-6 (V4)
I've a second printer (same model as first) at work that I also cannot print from. Tried reinstalling and driver not availble......

Hi @Noj74,
I'd like to help!
Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing in color.
If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know-how. Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
