I have a new HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201 that is connected to an ethernet LAN and works as expected with our systems running macOS Sonoma 14.5.
I have an HP Connected Account.
When I attempt to add the printer to my products list in order to register it, the web site rejects the serial number. There is no question that the serial number is being entered correctly. The printer shipping box, label on the printer and EWS serial number are identical.
Here's the error message. The last four digits of the serial number have been deleted for purposes of security.
How do I register the product?

Hi @WillW3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing an issue with registering your HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201 on the HP Connected Dashboard. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.
Double-Check Serial Number Format
- Ensure there are no spaces or dashes when entering the serial number.
- Verify that you are not confusing similar characters (e.g., 'O' and '0').
Clear Browser Cache and Cookies
- Sometimes, browser issues can cause problems. Try clearing your cache and cookies or use a different browser.
Update Browser
- Ensure that your web browser is up to date.
Try a Different Browser or Device
- Sometimes switching to a different browser or device can resolve these issues.
These steps should help you get your HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201 registered successfully.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

None of the suggestions work. Cleared caches, ad a pop-up blockers off, different browsers, mobile devices, another computer, another computer on a different LAN. A mobile device on 5G. I respectfully suggest that the problem is at your end. So I re-iterate: How do I register my product to validate ownership and start the warranty? Since HP's systems appear to be the problem is the a woman I can call to accomplish this unbelievably simple task. FO\or example, I registered three new routers with Synology. <Logged into my account and their software found them automatically. Is this beyond HP's capability?
