Hi @RZ1885,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To use your HP DeskJet 2827e printer with Windows 7, which may not have official support for this model, you can try the following workaround steps:

Install Basic Drivers:

  • Visit HP's official website https://support.hp.com/us-en and look for basic or universal drivers that are compatible with your printer and Windows 7. While not specific to your printer model, these drivers can sometimes allow basic printing functions.

Use Windows Built-In Drivers:

  • Go to ‘Devices and Printers’ in the Control Panel of Windows 7.
  • Click ‘Add a Printer’ and see if Windows detects your printer.
  • If it does not, manually search through the list for a similar HP printer model that might share drivers with your 2827e for basic functionality.

Check Windows Compatibility Settings:

  • Sometimes running the installer in Compatibility Mode can help.
  • Right-click on the printer driver installation file and select ‘Properties’.
  • Switch to the ‘Compatibility’ tab, check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’, and select an earlier version of Windows (such as Windows Vista).

Printer Sharing from a Windows 10/11 System:

  • If another computer with a newer version of Windows is available, install the printer on that system and enable printer sharing. You can then connect to the shared printer from your Windows 7 computer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
