DeskJet 2630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I need help with resetting the EWS password of an HP DeskJet 2630. I set the password a long time ago and now it has been lost.

I have the printer connected to WiFi and I can print, but this is not enough as I cannot change any settings without the EWS password.

I have seen a few forum threads with the same problem and the solution seems to have been provided via private messages. I assume it is not desired to post these instructions for the whole forum to see for whatever reason.

Therefore, I would appreciate it if someone sent me these instructions.

Hi @Kris_tjan

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try restoring the network settings to defaults - Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @Asmita6658,

Unfortunately your suggested solution did not have effect. For some reason pressing these two buttons together did not reset any network settings, not the WiFi credentials the printer tries to connect to nor the WiFi direct credentials. In fact I tried this method even before, found it from other similar forum posts.

Luckily the HP Smart application showed the WiFi direct password which I had consequently matched with the EWS administrator password. So everything is fine now.

Gave a thumbs up though. Thanks for helping.
