Hi,
I have a HP DeskJet 2700 Series printer. Has just installed it using HP Smart application on my laptop, it's installed, runned the HP Print & Scan Doctor and everything is ok and I can print a test page from print properties. But when I try to print something from Word, Notepad or other application, the printer takes the paper but doesn't print anything on it. If I print a document from HP Smart application, it prints OK.
Seems that I have the correct drivers and corret printer installation but what can cause this behaviour? I'm using the printer over USB cable, so no network or wifi issues should be the problem. And my system is a Windows 10 (64 bits).
Also tried to use driver HP Universal Printing PCL 6 instead of the HP DJ 2700 series PCL-3, but with this one, document never reaches the spool and is printed (neither test page).
Don't know what to do to get the printer working...hope someone can help me solving this issue.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that your printer is not printing anything, I am glad to assist you.
Are you getting any error messages?

Hi,
No error. Paper is pulled as the printer will print but no movement from tonners or anything else. The paper just comes out at the same constant speed and empty, without anyting printed on it.

Hi ManuelaPi,
The problem you are describing sounds to me like a driver issue, however you've clearly indicated that you've installed the driver.
Although it is trial-and-error troubleshooting, I would try removing the printer through the control panel, and then rebooting your system before re-adding the printer using the print driver (either UPD or the printer-specific driver).
This could remove cached data about the printer, allowing for a more clean installation to the printer.
When you try printing from other applications (Word, Notepad, etc.) try manually selecting the printer from "Printing Preferences" - this should also force the application to take a second look at the printer, which should force it to use the print driver.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Already tried those steps and even more...removed drivers from windoes drivers list to grant that drivers are re-installed correctly but didn't solved.
Selecting the printer is also something I've tried but nothing.
I think this printer is not compatible with Windows 10, since there aare more people reporting same issues with HP printers. Can it be the reason for the printer to not work with windows 10? (btw, also have windows 10 updated)
Thanks.
