HP DeskJet 3752 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I have an HP DeskJet 3752 that I was setting up, and I went to set a password for the Embedded Web Server. I set the password and then when it told me to enter the password to access the settings, the exact password I set did not work. I have tried basically every solution with no luck(Any possible password I could think of, attempting to reset the printer multiple times, etc). I have also seen posts from people who have the same issue, the solutions are either "contact HP support" or "press the wireless and cancel button for 3 seconds". Pressing wireless and cancel just puts the printer into setup mode which does not reset the EWS password(nor does resetting the printer itself by holding power and cancel then releasing), so if I could get any help with this issue that would be great!

@Sebastian2000, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you reset the EWS password and regain access:

Try Default Credentials First

  • Username: admin
  • Password/PIN: Check the UPC sticker on the back or inside the cartridge access area of your printer. If it's missing, skip to the next step.

Restore Factory Defaults via EWS

This method resets all printer settings including the EWS password.

Steps:

Find the printer's IP address:

  • Press the Information button on the printer to print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Look for the IP Address on the printout.

Access the EWS:

  • Open a browser and type the IP address directly into the address bar (not a search engine).

Reset EWS password:

  • Go to Settings or System tab.
  • Click Restore Factory Defaults > Confirm with Yes.
  • The printer will restart and reset all settings including the EWS password.

Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode (if needed)

If you're unable to connect to the printer after the reset:

Steps:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 3 seconds.
  • Wait for the Wireless light to blink blue, indicating setup mode is active.

After Reset

  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi using the HP Smart App: HP Smart
  • Access EWS again using the new IP address.
  • You can now set a new password if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
