My HP 5200 printer says it is not installed in the printer settings in HP Smart. In MS Word I only have the option of fax on the HP 5200. If I try to scan from HP Smart it works normally. In HP Smart main page it says ready and in fact it is connected via WiFi.
The issue seems to be related to drivers as when I go to the control panel and add a printer it detects the HP 5200 but then when I install it keeps saying that the deiver is unavailable.
I have tried using HP Print and Scan Doctor. It also detect and installed the printer but eventually it had the same result.
Please help me solve this very annoying issue.

@moghzu
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Root level uninstall and reinstallation:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet 5200 All In One Printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
Reinstall basic printer drivers: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-5200-all-in-one-printer-series/1409573...
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting back.
Try assigning a manual IP. Refer to this video link for step by step instructions.
If the issue still persists, try adding a TCP/ IP port -
1) Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
2) Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
3) Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
4) Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
5) Try printing.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi, I solved the issue.
When I was checking the drivers in the Printer Server properties, i noticed that the DJ 5200 was not listed. For some reason this computer was downloading some other drivers.
Then I checked with my other computer to compare and noticed that the DJ5200 drivers were called hp-dj-5200-series-pcl-3. I then downloaded these drivers from the net, installed them manually and the printer worked fine right away.
My only worry was that I could not download these drivers directly from the HP site (or I could not find them) so I am not sure if they are the latest ones. I understand that most people are not technical and HP tries to keep it simple for everybody but it would be better to be able to download standalone drivers.
