Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using the HP Deskjet F4180 All in one Printer and lately it takes 15 minutes to print one page.

I am not sure how to update the drivers and the Automated Assistant does not have the F4180 printer in the drop down menu.

Anyone else experiencing this problem. It had been ongoing for about 4 months and I really don't want to buy a new printer before I see if I can solve this problem.  It scans ok, it is just the problem with the printer printing too slow.

Hi @Donmacq

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the slow printing issue.

Let's try these steps to reset the printer -

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Try connecting the printer to a different USB cable.

Print with both cartridges installed.

Also, check the printer preferences -

1) Search Windows for printers, and then click Printers & scanners in the list of results.

2) Click your printer, and then click Manage.

3) Click Printing Preferences.

4) Click the Paper or Paper/Quality tab.

5) In the Type or Paper Type field, make sure Plain Paper is selected.

6) Adjust the print quality. In the Print Quality field, make sure Draft or Normal is selected.

7) Click OK or Apply to confirm the changes.

😎 Try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
