Hello,

I have an HP Deskjet 1055 that I bought in the US. I moved to Germany for military service, and come to find out after I bought cartridges that I can no longer return, they do not work with my printer due to region locking.

I have tried to contact support for a region reset code, but when I enter the serial number for my printer, it says it is invalid. The autodetect feature detects my printer, and when I select to add it to my profile, it navigates to a 404 page.

I suspect that normal support for this printer has ended, because it is old. Is it still possible to get a region reset code?

Thank you,

Ian

Hi @cactusman52

To complete this procedure, you must contact HP in the printer's country of origin and request regionalization for your new location.

Once completed, you will be able to print.

Best regards

Hi @cactusman52

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

2. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.

3. Make sure HP App is installed too.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead
