Hi @5ilva5urfa
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The HP Deskjet 1510 printer is not natively supported on macOS Sequoia (version 15) due to its older driver compatibility. However, you can still try the following solutions to make it work:
Step 1: Use Apple's Built-in Drivers
MacOS often includes generic printer drivers that allow older printer models, like the HP Deskjet 1510, to function without dedicated HP software. Here’s how you can check if macOS recognizes the printer:
- Connect via USB: Plug your Deskjet 1510 directly into your MacBook Pro using a USB cable.
- Ensure the printer is turned on and properly connected.
- Automatic Driver Installation: Once connected, macOS should detect the printer and automatically install a generic driver.
- Print Settings:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Check if the HP Deskjet 1510 appears in the list of printers.
- Add Printer (if not listed):
- Click the + button in the Printers & Scanners section.
- Select the HP Deskjet 1510 from the available devices.
- MacOS will use its default driver for basic functionality.
Step 2: Use HP Easy Start Software
If Apple's built-in drivers don’t suffice, HP Easy Start is designed to simplify the setup process and ensure proper driver installation:
- Download HP Easy Start:
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your Deskjet 1510 model.
- Look for the HP Easy Start software in the drivers section, ensuring it’s compatible with macOS Sequoia.
- Install and Run:
- Download and install the software.
- Open HP Easy Start, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer:
- Ensure the printer is powered on and connected via USB.
- HP Easy Start should detect the printer and install the necessary drivers.
- Test Printing and Scanning:
- After installation, test the printer by printing or scanning a document to confirm that it’s working correctly.

Hi @ferRX
Brilliant! Thanks again (again) it works perfectly. Noted about the storage option.
For anyone else reading this, you will need to delete the printer in both the Utility and Printers & Scanners on the MacBook, reinstall on both, then normal service is restored.
