I purchased this printer from Walmart. It’s a good printer; however once it goes to sleep it won’t wake back up without unplugging and plugging it back in.
I can’t even register it. It seems HP doesn’t even recognize it own product. It’s starting to seem fishy.

Hi @EMazeinly_E
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that you are not able to wake up the printer from sleep, I am glad to assist you
Please try these steps:
Sleep mode cannot be disabled, although on some printers you can change the inactive time before the printer enters sleep mode. To find out if you can change the sleep mode time, see your printer's user guide.
To change the time to Sleep mode
1. Open the embedded web server (EWS). For more information, see Open the embedded web server
- Find out the IP address or hostname of the printer by pressing the Information button (i) to print an Information page.
NOTE: The printer must be on a network and must have an IP address.
- In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address or hostname assigned to the printer. For example, if the IP address is 123.123.123.123, type the following address into the web browser: http://123.123.123.123.
2. Click the Settings tab.
3. In the Power Management section, click Energy Saver Mode, and select the desired option.
NOTE: If prompted for a password, enter the PIN from the label on your printer. It might be near the cartridge access area inside the printer or on the back, side, or bottom of the printer.
4. Click Apply.
Hope this helps!
