Hi, I recently received an HP Deskjet 2710 without cartridges, so I bought some original HP305, but it keeps asking for SETUP cartridges that I don't have and it seems I can't find to purchase any. Is there a bypass for this? Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi@Armada02,

Please  follow the steps below to do a trade override:

    1. a. Open the ink cartridge access door.
    2. b. Press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.
    3. c. Close the access door. A Load Paper message displays on the control panel, and the printer begins initializing.
    4. d. If the initialization does not begin, repeat steps a through c until initialization begins.
    5. e. Follow the prompts on the control panel to complete initialization.

Hi@Armada02, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

As I understand, you're getting an error message while using set up cartridges in your printer.

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you tried regular ink cartridges?

Step 1: Make sure the ink cartridges are compatible

Step 2: Make sure the ink cartridges are correctly installed

Step 3: Clean the electrical contacts

Step 4: Reset the printer

Step 5: Clean the ink cartridge contacts again

Keep me posted. Happy to help!

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have bought HP305  cartridges and correctly installed. I'll try cleaning  cleaning the electrical contacts although looks clean with no dust. Any particular solution that I could use or a microfiber cloth would be enough?
