Hello. I'm trying to setup my HP Deskjet 2777 All-in-One Printer using the HP smart app on my Samsung S9 FE tablet. The set up process consistently fails with the specific error code: EBS00P0010. I have unplugged the printer, my router, and my tablet. My tablet has NO VPNs by the way. I have tried multiple times, yet it still doesn't connect. Since the phone support is currently closed, I am requesting that an Official HP support agent contact me via Private Message or PM as soon as possible to resolve this setup error. Thank you.

Hi @Angelmagz_704,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2777 setup fails with error EBS00P0010 on your Samsung S9 FE, even after restarting devices and checking for VPNs. Let’s go through steps to get the setup working.

Ensure the Printer Is in Setup Mode

On your DeskJet 2777, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts blinking blue.

The Power light should be solid, and the Wireless light blinking → printer is ready for setup.

Forget Old Networks on Your Tablet

On the S9 FE, go to Wi-Fi settings → Forget the old printer network (if any).

Ensure your tablet is on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that you want the printer to join.

Add Printer via HP Smart

Open HP Smart → Add Printer.

The app should detect the printer as HP-Setup-DeskJet….

Select it and follow prompts to connect.

Reset Printer Network Settings

If the error persists, reset the printer’s Wi-Fi:

Press and hold Wireless + Cancel (X) for 10 seconds.

The wireless light will blink → this clears old network info.

Try adding the printer again in HP Smart.

Check Router Settings

Ensure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is enabled (the DeskJet 2777 cannot connect to 5 GHz only).

Disable MAC filtering or guest network isolation temporarily.

Avoid Wi-Fi passwords with special characters if possible.

Firmware Update (Optional)

If the printer briefly connects via Wi-Fi or USB, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.

Updating firmware can fix persistent setup errors.

I hope this helps.
