Hi @HartleyHare93,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2800e isn’t printing. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the printer’s connection status
– Make sure the printer shows “Online” in HP Smart or in Windows Printer Settings.
– If it’s offline, restart the printer and reconnect it to Wi-Fi.

Confirm there are no error lights or messages
– Look for blinking lights on the control panel or warnings in HP Smart.
– Clear any paper jams or cartridge-related alerts.

Ensure the printer is set as the default
– In Windows Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
– Select the DeskJet 2800e and click “Set as default.”

Run the HP Smart troubleshooting tools
– Open HP Smart → Printer Settings → Diagnostic Tools.
– Let the app repair print queue issues or communication errors.

Check the print queue for stuck jobs
– Right-click the printer → “See what’s printing.”
– Cancel all pending jobs, then try printing again.

Restart the print spooler service
– Press Windows + R → type “services.msc.”
– Find “Print Spooler,” right-click, and choose Restart.

Reconnect or reinstall the printer in HP Smart
– Remove the printer from HP Smart and add it again.
– This forces Windows to reinstall the correct drivers.

Verify cartridges and paper supply
– Ensure both cartridges have ink and are clicked firmly into place.
– Load plain paper and align the cartridges if prompted.

I hope this helps.
