Recently had to replace my Linksys router with a new one. Needless to say my wireless printer was no longer connecting. I had trouble changing it to the new router so I deleted the installed printer on my PC, uninstalled the printer software and downloaded updated drivers and tried installing from scratch. I even reset the printer to factory defaults so it was as if I was installing a new printer. The printer driver install goes well, I get to the "Wireless Setup using a USB cable" window where I am prompted to connect the printer using a USB cable. As soon as I plug in the USB cable, it continues to the next screen, so I know it can detect the connection. At the next screen it asks me if "Yes, I want to allow setup to access the computer and router settings" or "No, I will enter the settings manually". It does not matter which one I select, but when I click next, it automatically goes to the screen that says "The connection between your computer and your printer has been lost. Please make sure that your USB cable is plugged into both the computer and printer". And I cannot go any further. Have tried several times and start "clean" but same results each time. I've checked device manager and no printer listed there, I've done the "printutil.exe /s" and no drivers there. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.
