I have recently been noticing that the printer utility software for my HP printer continuously crashes and malfunctions every time I try to access tools such as ink supply levels. I have tried looking for a driver update on the HP website to try to solve the problem, but HP apparently does not have the driver for the printer model in question. At this time, I cannot even check how much ink I have left in the cartridges without the printer program crashing unexpectedly.
What kind of a solution is there for this kind of problem? Is it a good idea to continue using the printer even though its utility program is error-prone and unusable?
I am currently using MacOS 11.1 Big Sur.

Hi @printuser_1991,
I'd like to help!
HP Deskjet 3054 All-in-One Printer - J610a driver for macOS is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.
NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello @Jay_G24,
Thanks for your response.
I have decided to upgrade to a newer HP printer model. It appears to be the best way to prevent any possibility of future incompatibility problems between the old printer and newer operating systems that I may use going forward.
Also, I would be more comfortable having a printer that HP currently supports and for which it's actively providing updates or any needed patches.
Take care and have a nice day!
