I used have an app for this device and was able to make outside copies and scan items through (could then email through the app etc).  My app is gone now and when I try to download new app (for a higher cost), it still does not have scanning or copying capabilities.  What do I do?

Hi @dfghjk1444

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the situation—it’s genuinely frustrating when a feature you relied on suddenly disappears. You don’t need to pay for scanning or copying functionality with your HP DeskJet 3755.

Let’s walk through how to restore full access using the correct app and setup.

Step 1: Install the HP App

HP has replaced HP Smart with the HP App, which includes scanning, copying, and email features at no cost.

  1. Download the HP App from the Microsoft Store:
    https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfjb1z
  2. Open the app and sign in with your HP account (or create one).
  3. Add your HP DeskJet 3755 by selecting Add Printer.
  4. Once connected, you’ll see options for:
    • Scan
    • Copy
    • Print
    • Email scanned documents

Step 2: Enable Scan and Copy Features

If the printer is connected but features are missing:

  • Go to Printer Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.
  • Restart the printer and reopen the HP App.

Step 3: Use the Embedded Web Server (Optional)

If the app still doesn’t show scan options:

  1. Find your printer’s IP address from the control panel or HP App.
  2. Enter it into a browser to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  3. Use the Scan tab to scan directly from the printer interface.

Let me know if your printer isn’t showing up in the HP App or if you’re using a phone or tablet—I’ll guide you through the mobile setup.
