HP DeskJet 4133e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I was enrolled in you monthly service and now I decided not to. Since then, your printer is trying to do the printer alignment every 2 days and wasting my paper and toner. I searched around and there is no option avail to disable the automated alignment and I'm about to smash your junk printer & throw it away.

@SS-LNV, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it must be to see your HP DeskJet 4133e printer repeatedly printing alignment pages, especially after opting out of the Instant Ink service. Let’s work together to resolve this issue.

When you cancel HP Instant Ink, your printer may still be using Instant Ink cartridges. These cartridges are subscription-based and may trigger alignment or error behaviors if the subscription is no longer active.

Steps to Fix the Repeated Alignment Issue:

Check and Replace Instant Ink Cartridges

If you're still using Instant Ink cartridges, please replace them with standard HP cartridges (non-Instant Ink). The printer may be trying to align because it detects a change in cartridge status.

Manually Align the Printer (One-Time)

Sometimes, completing a manual alignment can stop the printer from repeating the process.

Using HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart App on your PC or mobile.
  • Select your printer > Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Align Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Using Printer Control Panel (if available):

  • Navigate to Setup > Tools > Align Printer.

Reset the Printer

A simple reset can sometimes clear persistent alignment loops.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware

Ensure your printer has the latest firmware:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
