Hi, I'm facing a communication problem since I have updated my Macbook Pro from MacOS High Sierra to MacOS Mojave.
The error happens only for scanner tool, the printer tool work normally.
When I open It, the scanner starts warming and after couple seconds the message "An error occured while communicating with the scanner. (-9923)". I have tried to reinstall the printer on my preferences and I have tried to use scanner tool from HP as well and didn't work too. Also, I have another two MacBooks Pro on my home and even after Mojave update its working perfecly, the problem is just with my computer.
I also checked there ia a Print and Scan Doctor, but unfortunately It's only for Windows.
Anyone have problems with this issue ? I appreciate some help and support on that.
Cheers.
Pedro

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
I understand you are not able to scan from your mac and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:
Are you able to copy documents?
How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
Let me know!

Hi, thanks for the reply,
Yes, I'm able to copy documents and the printer is connected by wireless.
As I mentioned before, other computers are running normally the scan tool, even an identical computer of mine.
Cheers

You are welcome! It could be an issue with the printer software and driver installed on your Mac. Removing existing driver and adding a compatible driver may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Download and install HP Easy Scan from here and try to scan using HP Easy Scan.
Let me know how it goes!
