I just updated my Mac OS to 11.0.1 Big Sur. Now my HP Deskjet 6980 printer doesn't work because HP doesn't have a driver for Big Sur. Any suggestions on how I can get my printer to communicate with my laptop?

Hi,

Let's try installing below drivers.

 

First, download below drivers to your Mac

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/ASU/HewlettPac...

 

Right-click (or CTRL+Left Click) the file and press Open, then follow the installation.

Once completing the installation, power on the printer and connect it to your Mac, then open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Select your printer and then select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu, then check if you may print.

Hi-

Thanks for the link and info but it doesn't work.

I receive a message from Apple saying that it can't scan the download for malicious software. See attached.

 

Any advice?
