I have 2 pcs at home which are running exactly the same version of windows. I was unlucky enough to reinstall windows on the second one and since then I cannot install my F2100 driver.
I know the printer is old but it is perfectly functioning so whats the point in throwing it away.
Both are running Windows 10 19042. I have:
a. Run various automated troubleshooters
b. Tried to download the HP drivers
c. Tried to install generic drivers
d. Tried to run it as a network printer connected to AiMesh
e. Update via various 3rd driver scanning software
f. I transferred the exact drivers that are working on the first PC and tried to install them
Whatever I do I either get Driver cannot be installed or Unable to find a core driver package that is required by the printer driver package.
Any help appreciated cause I am about to go mad. Both of the systems are 64bit and the PC I want to install them on has run the Deskjet drivers for years without an issue until I was forced to reinstall them.
The scanner is detected by Windows but not the printer. And yes I have printed and scanned since the issue started so it is not a hardware issue.

Update: Windows sees my F2100 but whenever I am trying to update the driver by using the latest one I am getting a "Unable to find a core driver package that is required by the printer driver package."
Any idea how to solve it?

@Foxbat21fx, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Let us perform a clean reinstallation of pre-installed HP drivers:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
