Hi, I bought a HP Deskjet F2110 printer.  It doesnt connect to my laptop.  It says Drive unavailable.  I looked the printer up and it says HP retired it.  How can I get it to connect to my laptops?

Hi @Monica0412,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing a "Drive unavailable" error with your HP Deskjet F2110 printer, it may be due to the printer being retired, which implies that standard driver support might not be readily available from HP.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website: HP Support
  • Search for HP Deskjet F2110 printer drivers.
  • If drivers are not available, you may need to use generic HP drivers compatible with Deskjet printers.

Use Windows Update:

  • Open the "Settings" in your Windows.
  • Navigate to "Update & Security".
  • Click "Check for updates" and allow Windows to update and search for drivers automatically.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or 123.hp.com.
  • Follow the prompts to add your printer and download any potential drivers.

Manual Installation:

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Go to Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Add a printer.
  • Choose to install manually and select "Use an existing port".
  • Select the manufacturer HP and select a similar model or generic driver if F2110 is unavailable.

Compatibility Mode:

  • Download an older driver file that might still exist for previous Windows versions.
  • Right-click the driver installation file, select "Properties".
  • Switch to the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select an older version

Take care and have an amazing day!
