On my new macbook pro I installed the latest driver (HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dmg). When I print I get the following error "Stopped - 'Filter' failed, 1 page."
When I go to system preferences -> Printers & Scanners and delete the printer with the - and then add it back with the + I get the following "an error occurred while trying to add the selected device. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time"
The printer is on and connected with a usb cable. It is working, as I was able to print from another computer.
I have tried reinstalling the print driver and rebooting the mac, but no luck.
I note that when I try to add the printer and do a ps ax | grep cups, I see the folowing;
7037 ?? S 0:00.03 /usr/libexec/cups/daemon/cups-deviced 1 0 60 26 requested-attributes=all exclude-schemes='dnssd','mdns','http','fax','ipp','lpd','usb','smb','serial','riousbprint','socket','ipps'
Does this imply that it is excluding usb, but my printer is usb connected. Any idea how I can configure it to allow usb?
The name/kind in the add window says
HP Deskjet F4400 series. USB Multifunction.
