When I set up my printer it successfully printed the test page. When I try to print a file from my desktop or highlight text while online, the printer only gives me a blank page. My ink cartridges are good, the connection info says its connected and used as my default printer....HELP!!!

Hi @CameronCooke,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are unable to print from your HP Printer.
This issue could occur if the pause printer or “use printer offline” option is checked in the printer driver settings.
Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.
And here are a few steps listed below:
1. Turn the printer off and on, and then make sure it is in a ready state.
2. Search Windows for devices, and then click Devices and Printers in the list of results.
3. Find the icon for the printer you originally installed.
4. Right-click the icon for the default printer, and then select See what's printing. The print queue window opens.
5. Click Printer. If a checkmark displays next to Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline, click each item to remove the checkmark. Try to print.
Also, I suggest that you follow the steps in the link: Printer is Offline (Windows)
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

I followed the steps you gave me but no luck. I believe I may have left out an important detail...The printer turns on when I try to print and then acts as though it is printing but no ink is on the paper. I can print text from a highlighted section but when I try to print something directly from my documents it does the above action with no print on the page.

Greetings @CameronCooke, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @Rainbow23, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply and providing the important information.
Are you able to make a copy using the printer?
If you are able to make a copy using the printer, the issue is most like to be driver related.
Recommend you follow the procedure mentioned below to remove the printer software and settings completely and install it back.
Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
Click on print server properties.
You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there, if any.
Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
Restart the PC.
Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
Restart the PC again.
Download the latest full feature driver from www.hp.com/drivers and install it on the computer.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
Let me know if this helped.

This is going to sound dumb, and I’m no tech genius, but this worked:
My printer wouldn’t print anything on pages for the longest time, I swapped the ink cartridge since it was low anyway and still nothing, but I fixed it this morning doing this:
I went out and bought another ink cartridge set tab Walmart for my HP Envy 4520
I also bought HP Paper (copy / print paper)
I turned on the printer as usual, waited for it to stop clicking around and to sync up to the WiFi
then I gave it an additional 3 minutes
I changed the ink cartridge out, and when I shut it, the menu screen in the center read “installed genuine HP black ink”, then it asked me to do an alignment—> I hit okay.
I have no clue if it has to deal with the ink going bad or the paper, but it worked either way. Hopefully this helps?
