HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer

Hello,

My HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One printer with an Instant Ink subscription has had its printing blocked due to a required firmware update.  However when I follow the instructions for the firmware update from the HP site,

it says the only available firmware package is not applicable to my device and won't allow it to be installed.

That makes sense given the HP Smart App says that this FW package is already installed on the HP Envy 5530 printer.

But why then is my printing blocked if I have the latest FW update installed on the printer?  Any suggestions on next steps / anyone else experiencing this?

Hi @GottaQ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to encounter issues with your printer firmware update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check Compatibility: Ensure that you're downloading the correct firmware update for your specific printer model. Sometimes, mistakenly downloading firmware for a different model can lead to errors.

Manual Update: Instead of relying on the automatic update tool, you can try manually updating the firmware. Go to the HP Support website, find your printer model, and locate the firmware update specifically for it. Download this firmware update file to your computer and follow the provided instructions for manual installation.

Reset Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its factory settings can resolve firmware-related issues. Look for instructions on how to perform a factory reset in your printer's manual or on the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
