laptop and printer not communicating. After I tried various things with Virtual Agent over past 3 days, now there is no longer a printer on the printer list for my computer.  I cannot download any of the HP apps to try to fix the problem.

How can I get the laptop able to print on the printer?

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer: Go to>Setup Menu>Wireless>Restore Network Defaults

Once done try connecting the Printer to the Wi-Fi: Go to>Setup Menu>Wireless>Wireless Setup Wizard

Let me know if this helps.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Remove and add the printer

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign and then delete the printer.

Click the Plus sign and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint

Click Add to add the printer to the list.

Try to print.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I tried to follow your instructions, but when I try to add the printer name, I either get a message saying "unable to communicate with laptop", or the wheel keeps spinning and the printer does not get added.

I have tried this many times, and also shut down my computer between tries. So, have I done something that makes it impossible for HP to communicate with my laptop?

I am able to copy things using the printer. I just can't communicate between printer and laptop.

The suggestion from Betty was perfect!  I was able to get the printer to again communicate with my laptop.  I'm sorry that my reply has been so slow.
