Hi all,
I have a printer ENVY 5660 that does stopped working with my Dell with Window10 . I connected the printer with the cable to my laptop and I can see it, I downloaded the software from HP website for this series, however, the driver shows unavailable , and I do not really understand what else to check and why did it stop working.
Thank you.

Hi @Nicoleta30
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello,
I'm having the same problem with my printer. Suddenly, it gave either "offline, " or "error," or "driver not available" messages and refused to print--although the print job was in the queue and said it was printing.
Prior to finding the suggested fix, I removed the printer and then downloaded the full package of software from the website and reinstalled...it took me through the registration procedure but never got to a finish or done button?
I tried to follow the suggested fix instructions to remove the printer but when I got to the run command of printui.exe /s and tried to remove the driver for my HP Envy 5660, which showed in the driver tab, it says it cannot remove it because it is currently in use.
This is not true, because the queue was emptied and all the laptops we own have the printer removed already (remove device), and it does NOT show as an available printer when I go to printers & scanners, nor does the "add" function find the printer when I ask it to search for it.
It is set up to connect to our wireless network, and I checked to see that the printer screen shows that it is connected and it does.
I clicked to search for wi-fi direct printers and it found and connected the printer, asking for the (WSP?) code from the printer screen, which I entered and it said it was connected. But then back to the beginning saying driver not available.
Not sure what else to do now. Need to print, as I'm working from home and my 3 teens are trying to do high school and college work from home.
